Meko's Letter to the Order of the Dragon 6

Dear Captain
Over the last few weeks I found our group aligning with the most unlikely allies. We worked out a deal with a Dhampir named Quinley. He helped us get information on the next evil steps of the Whispering Way. In return we helped him find the killer of his vampire mother. That alignment brought us deep into the Vampire Underground. The Vampires have a vast city of their own under Caliphas. After battling our way through the sewers and storm drains Quinley arranged a meeting with Luvick, an ancient vampire. He has experienced the Whispering Way first hand in his 2,000 years of existence and was willing to tell where the cult might be heading. Our efforts exposed Radvir, one of their own, as the killer. Our final deed was to find and kill the witches that had been producing Bloodbrew elixir. An elixir that gives vampire spawn temporary free will from its creator. The witches and Radvir aligned themselves with the Whispering Way in a plan to raise the Whispering Tyrant. In our efforts to eliminate the witches my faithful companion Blue was slain.

We have recently learned that the cult fled to Renchurch a stronghold in the Haunted Highland. Their plan to bring back the Whispering Tyrant must be stopped. We may be the only ones with the power to save Ustalav and all of Humanity from this horror of the undead.

With this I employ you to send a mount worthy of such a task. We leave for the stronghold in one week. Please do your best to supply me with a new companion with the power to make a difference is our battle and effort in defeating the Whispering Way.

Dear Captain
I am still traveling with the same heroic group I wrote about earlier. We are continuing to track down Whispering Way. I feel that all of Ustalav is in great danger, and the goal of us stopping the evil plan the Whispering Way must be taken to completion. The things i have seen in our tireless pursuit. We have stared into the face of the God Shub-Niggurath. And recovered an Artifact of Pharasma. I have seen a vision of this very group saving this land.

I have been enjoying the speed and versatility of an insect mount. I plan to train Giant Albino cave Solfiugig next. Adding this beast to my stable should keep me busy training for a few weeks. I will let you know more of our travels, and conquests once we find out what the Whispering Way is doing in Caliphas.

A few thoughts........

Well I don’t even know where to start. Even though I am in the constant company of some great individuals, I feel alone since my brother’s passing. Every waking hour I spend thinking about how the Whispering Way has taken everything I know away from me. The last thing that had me bound to this world, gone. After the last incident of facing the tentacle headed monster (which I think was related to those spawn monsters that attacked us in the temple in town) and the death of my brother, my hatred for the Whispering Way has reached new levels. Their utter lack of respect for life knows no bounds. They have to be stopped, somehow, someway. I hope I am strong enough to defeat them and keep my compatriots safe. Every incident that I deal with in this investigation drives me to losing my vows, to go utterly insane and lash out at the world with all of the angst and hatred that has built up inside of me for years. Everything that I have experienced from my brothers death to the parents who willingly gave their child to these creatures, to this tentacled creature that erupted from the priest has driven me to forget my vows of peace. I was always taught that there is a peaceful solution to every occasion but I am having a hard time finding these ways. I have let my rage and my hatred fuel my attacks. I have looked to kill before subduing and talking to the people involved. With the atrocities I have seen is it even possible? Torag please give me a sign or some sort of guidance. I ask of you to help me understand if there is a peaceful way to deal with these atrocities or do I continue on this path of death as the people I seek to defeat? I need to continue to look into myself or I shall lose my soul to the baser instincts and be banished from Torag’s light.

Dear Captain
I regret to inform you of the untimely death of another faithful companion. I am traveling with the same heroic group i earlier wrote about. We had followed agents of the Whispering Way to the war torn city of Feldreau. There we put a stop the whispering way necromancers hold on the town. They had been drawing the souls of the once slaughtered towns folk from a mass grave. They are using the gathering souls as a component to an incantation of some sort. Once we found Vrood, the Master of this unholy act. He cast a spell of death that Bray II and one of our hero’s Boa could not withstand. Killing them both instantly. But with the heroic and vengeful actions of Boa’s brother Qirnas grappling him to the ground. I Drew my blade across his neck, separating his head from his body. Vrood had completed drawing enough innocent souls to make the item he desired. We are now on our way to Thrushmoor to stop the whispering way from gathering yet another component to complete there evil plan.

Boa's Obit

Durdan “Boa” Rockcrusher , 55, died Oathday, Sarenith 8, 4712 following a brief encounter with a Necromancer.

He leaves his brother of 57 years, Qirnas Rockcrusher and many close friends.

Born and raised in Stavronikita Monastery, in Canterwall, the son of Carl and Helene Rockcrusher.

In his early years he spent a lot of time, doing chores, training in the ways of our brotherhood and playing with snakes. After the monastery was burned down and his mother and father killed, Boa gave up his monk ways and with his brother they set out on a road of Destruction. Destruction of the Whispering Way, that is.

Little did poor Boa know that a Necromancy (probably one of the ones who helped destroy his family) would get the last laugh.

Now Qirnas, Meko, Draxel, and Bastion must avenge his death and all must donate 1,000 each, once a month, to his tomb in grand offerings or Boa will for haunt them forever (as said with his dying breath, pretty sure they heard it). They also must build him a really REALLY expensive tomb, Cornflakes would have wanted that for Boa.

Dear Captain
I am sending this letter to request a new mount. The wolf has been my faithful companion for as long as i have been in the Order of the Dragon. His worth to the Order is unmatched for an rider of my stature. But as of late i fear the wolves limitation have been met. I officially am putting a request for a mount with more speed, power and versatility.

I trust the Order will take my request seriously. The power of the whispering way should not be underestimated. The plan they have in motion may very well be the end of what we all hold dear in this life. I hope we are not to late to stop this horror from unfolding.

The passing of a good friend.

Proctor Jarius, I have discovered recently that our brother Gretarial has passed. I was in town when I overheard the conversation and heard Gretarial’s name mentioned. I talked to his associates and they informed me that he was killed trying to free an imprisoned man from a giant construct. I thanked them for the information and thought immediately to contact you. May Pharasma guide his soul to his final peace.
May Pharasma guide and protect you,
Father Helix

Dear Captain,
I am sad that i am writing this letter. My faithful companion Bray fell in battle to visious hound constructed of flesh and metal. I felt a bit helpless and stunned as i watched Bray fall to her death. But with great courage one of the group, a fair skinned female name Angelica, pushed the monster off the same bridge that took Bray’s life. Still distraught from my loss we set up camp. Soon after we settled down for the night. The Monster returned only to feel my blade across its throat. In the end i exacted my revenge by slaying the hideous creature.

On a more up lifting note. Our efforts to reveal the innocence of the Beast of Lipedstadt prevailed. The beast was presumed innocent. He asked us to meet his father. A journey that brought the death of my faithful Bray. I hope this Father was worth my sorrow.

A letter home (2)

Hello Mother and Father,

I have received the gift you sent me, thank you for it. It’s been some time since I have seen the owls. If you send another message could you send Francis? He has always been my favorite of them.

My blade did not have to kill any town folk. The others managed to talk most of them down, I pushed a few off a ladder so they were knocked down also. Although the halfling I have been traveling with did cut one of the mob’s leaders head off. I never met a halfer that like blood shed as much as this one. I shall have to always keep an eye on that one I think. I am surprised that the Paladin didn’t do more to bring the halfling to some sort of justice. Maybe he isn’t as strong willed as I first thought, or he is afraid of the halfer.

The last part of the trial was a success and the Beast was allowed to go free. Before he left the city he invited us to came to his home and meet his “father”. We are heading there now, I am sending Bethany back with this message. I shall write you again soon.

Your loving daughter,
Angelica
